Membership Benefits

As a practicing midwife, here are some of the benefits you will experience by having an AAM professional membership. To become a member now, fill out the form to the right. If you identify as a midwife or student midwife of color please use the code midwifeofcolor for complimentary membership.

 

Voting Privileges

AAM professional members hold voting rights that allow them to determine the direction of the organization. AAM is a member-run organization and all major decisions are brought before membership for a vote. Leadership serving in the board of directors is elected by voting members.

 

Referrals to Your Practice

AAM advertises as a group on behalf of its members from time to time through local television, radio and print advertising. Additionally, all professional members are listed on our online midwife locator which easily links clients to the midwives closest to them throughout Arizona.

 

Educational Opportunities

AAM regularly hosts educational opportunities designed to keep AAM members up to date on evidenced-based midwifery care. We host a yearly fall conference, provide guest speaker opportunities at AAM membership meetings, and regular opportunities for CEUs.

 

Peer Review

Regular peer review provides a space for midwives to share experiences,  review difficult cases, and offers accountability within the midwifery practice.  Special peer review may be called when needed for complaints or complications.
